Men’s Walk #84
October 4-7

A message from your Lay Director:

I was honored to receive the call to be the men’s lay director and I know God has been preparing me for this journey. I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on how God works in our lives and the constant pull of Christ’s grace, even in times when I’m not seeking His direction. I’ve realized that I have felt closest to God while serving on the Walk and I felt an instant connection to the song Gracefully Broken song by Matt Redman. This is the men’s theme song and also the men’s theme. I find the song refreshing about our purpose as Christians and turning our lives over and surrendering to God’s will and purpose. “Here I am God arms wide open pouring out my life gracefully broken” “You will fulfill your purpose for me, you won’t forsake me, You will be with me.” It is through our community connection that we really see God at work in our lives. I love the words of this song which just reminds me of God’s love as a Father, accepting and loving no matter the circumstances. I know God has great plans for all of us and sometimes it is about us letting go of control and letting God drive. I know the Walk will be a blessing to the Pilgrims and I look forward to working with the community.

A message from your Lay Director:

Theme: “I’ve Got JOY!”
Theme Song: “Old Church Choir” by Zach Williams

I knew the theme and song before I knew I would be Lay Director. While driving in the car one day, I was making a JOYFUL NOISE singing along with Old Church Choir. My husband, Tom, said,” if you were ever a Lay Director, I think that would be your theme song” – I agreed. So a few months later and here we are!

As believers of Jesus Christ we have the Holy Spirit locked into our bubbles out and overflows. Just like that Old Church Choir singing in my soul!

Isn’t it true that we sometimes get distracted, overwhelmed, burned out? The purpose of Emmaus is to re-ignite, to encourage and build up believers in Jesus Christ, so that they can go back to their churches and serve in JOY. And so as the song says….”There’s a revival, and it’s spreading, like a wildfire in my heart – Once you choose it, you can’t lose it – – there ain’t nothing gonna steal my joy!”

John 15:11 Jesus says… “I have told you this so that your JOY may be complete.” My Bible study footnote interpretation says this, “The Christian way is never dreary, for Jesus desires his disciples JOY to be complete!”

Shari King, Vice Director and I invite you to come and help re-ignite the JOY on Walk #84. Sign up to serve – sign up to sponsor – reignite the JOY in your soul!
“Be JOYFUL always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for it’s God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

You are a beautiful Child of God, you are loved and you have wonderful gifts to share…we would LOVE to have you JOY’n us and enJOY 72 hours of JESUS FILLED JOY & CELEBRATION!! ‘Cause ain’t nobody gonna steal our JOY!!

Blessings and Hugs,
Leah Such
